Punjab technical university (PTU), Jalandhar affiliates 122 Engineering, Management and Pharmacy Colleges in Punjab. PTU is active since 1997 and have been providing strong base for future technology professionals, engineers, architects and IT experts thereby contributing to the advancement of technological infrastructure of India. It is established under the act of state legislature to promote the technical, management and professional education at the degree level and above. The university has intake of 12700 per year.
PTU distance l earning program constitute s most practical tools to impart technical education similar to that of students enrolled in regular courses. There are various tools including chat, forums, group discussions, virtual classrooms and study material for students.
PTU, besides regular degree courses also coordinates distance learning program via VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal). It is a high technological means of providing professional degree programs via the medium of satellite to geographically distant regions.
