COMED-K UGET 2009 - Under Graduate Entrance Test

Admissions to Under Graduate Courses in Private, Unaided, Medical and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka for the Academic Year 2009-2010 through COMEDK under graduate entrance test and centralized counseling (COMEDK UGET-2009)
Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association have set up ‘COMEDK’ to organize a ‘Common Entrance Test and Centralized Counseling’, that would facilitate selection of candidates on merit for admissions to undergraduate courses offered by member institutions (Medical and Engineering). COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window system). The details of the arrangement made will be publicized in due course on our website, (www.comedk.org)
COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical and Engineering Under-Graduate courses called ‘COMEDK UGET-2009', for candidates seeking admission to Under Graduate courses in MBBS and BE. The entrance test is being conducted for merit determination for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Under-Graduate courses in COMEDK Member Institutions. The COMEDK UGET-2009 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2009-2010.
Note:There is no Common Entrance Test for admission to BDS during the year 2009-2010.
The COMEDK UGET-2009 will be conducted across Karnataka on Sunday the 17th May 2009
Eligibility Criteria:
MBBS:
General Merit candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 50% marks in PCB.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 40% marks in PCB. Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years as on 31/12/2008.
BDS:
General Merit candidates should have passed qualifying exam which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent exam recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject must have passed the subject and individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years as on 31/12/2008. There is no Common Entrance Test for admission during the year 2009-2010.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. All other requirements are same as applicable for General Merit candidates.
B.E:
General Merit candidates, the minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent qualifying Examination recognized by State / Central Government with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English as one of the language of study is compulsory. There is no minimum marks fixed for entrance test. Hence all candidates who have taken the entrance test will find a place in the merit list as per their performance.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka the aggregate marks in PCM should be not less than 40% in the qualifying examination as mentioned above.
B. Arch
A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination (2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination) with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka. Further the candidate should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 for both general merit and category candidates.
COMEDK will not be conducting any Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B.Arch (Architecture Course) as per existing rules.
