MPhil in Psychiatric Social Work: Master’s degree in Social Work

MSc in Psychiatric Nursing: One year experience as Registered Nurse with BSc/ BSc (Hons)/ PC BSc Nursing in Hospital, Nursing Education Institution or Community Health setting

Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing (DPN) and Diploma in Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing (DNN): Should possess ‘A’ Grade Certificate in General Nursing recognized by Indian Nursing council., should be a registered Nurse in the State Nursing Council with two years experience.

Common for all Courses:
The qualifying degrees for all the above mentioned courses should be from a recognized University. For Medical qualification the degree should be recognized by the Medical Council of India.
The Candidates should have obtained not less than 55% of Marks in the aggregate of the Master's degree for non-medical courses.
A relaxation of 5% on the aggregate of marks obtained will be given for non medical and PhD courses in respect of SC/ST candidates

1. Application forms for all the courses are available online at the NIMHANS website www.nimhans.kar.nic.in The applications have to be filled online and submitted online. Printout of the Application Abstract with the latest passport size photograph affixed (in the column provided) along with the Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, NIMHANS, Bangalore – 560 029 and relevant enclosures should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS, Hosur Road, Bangalore - 560 029 by superscribing the name of the course(s) applied for, on the Envolope without fail.
2. A candidate can apply for a maximum of 4 courses only (Medical & Non- Medical inclusive) provided they are eligible.
3. The Application fee for both Medical & Non-Medical courses is Rs.1000/- per course for General candidates and Rs.750/- per course for SC/ST candidates
4. Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the common Entrance Test along with the other candidates.
5. Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and they should also appear for the Common Entrance Test. The candidates should produce the sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format.

Ph.D. Programme
A. The students may be drawn from those with qualifications from any of the streams listed Below:
Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines like humanities, social sciences, pure sciences and Commerce, from a recognized university/ deemed university/ institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration, considered equivalent to MBA by AIU.
B. Minimum Marks required:
60% marks or equivalent CGPA at PG level.

C. Work Experience:
At least 5 years full time work experience in executive or supervisory capacity after obtaining Master’s Degree.

D. Engineering students with 65% marks or equivalent CGPA at degree level with 5 years work experience in Academic/Academic Institution/ Research/ Corporate.

Teaching Assistantship of Rs. 25000/- will be available to students for period of 4 years, in addition there would an academic fee waiver. Research grants of Rs. 10,000/- per annum for Ph.D. Research.

Eligibility Criteria for EPGDBM(Bangalore Campus)
Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Five Years Post qualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.



Eligibility Criteria for Part Time MBA
Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU. Three Years Post qualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.

Following criteria is common for all programme
a) The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

b) The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. The percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.

c) In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university / institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by NMIMS by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

d) Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. But their admission will be subject to their fulfilling the eligibility norms as mentioned above.

Selection Process For NMAT 2010

All those who registered successfully will be called for the NMAT, provided they satisfy condition of eligibility. It is the sole responsibility of the candidates to check that he/she is eligible as per the criteria. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of NMAT Score, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Presentation (as applicable) and work experience. The selection criteria will be based on merit. The cut-off for deciding the merit shall lie solely with NMIMS University. In this regard, the decision of the NMIMS University will be final and undisputable and shall be binding on all concerned.
(Note: 15% seats are reserved for Management Quota in each course out of total intake)

All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2010 for Admission to MBBS/BDS Course Under 15% Merit Positions in Medical/Dental Colleges.

Admission Notice

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2010 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir

1. Preliminary Examination - 3rd April, 2010 (Saturday)
2. Final Examination - 16th May, 2010 (Sunday)

Pattern of Examination: Both Preliminary and Final Examination Would Be Objective Type

Eligibility and Qualifications for CBSE AIPMT 2010

(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

(ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical /Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

Candidate must born between -
(a) 31.12.80 to 31.12.93 (SC/ST/OBC Category)
(b) 31.12.85 to 31.12.93 (Other Category)

(iii) The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.

(iv) Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh/J&K are not eligible, as both these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility they must submit an affidavit, in original, in the Proforma on Rs 10/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper duly sworn before and attested by a Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that:-

a) They are not eligible to compete for MBBS/BDS seats in the States of Andhra Pradesh/J&K and hence not eligible to seek admission in Medical/Dental Colleges of Andhra Pradesh/J&K.
and
b)They are not domiciled in Andhra Pradesh/J&K.

Note : Applications not accompanied with the required affidavits or accompanied with incomplete, unattested or photocopy of the affidavit shall be summarily rejected without any further reference in the matter. The affidavits submitted by such candidates will be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and criminal proceedings may be initiated against them.

Qualifications and Qualifying examination Codes:
CODE : 07A candidate who is taking up the qualifying examination prior to the competitive test, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take up the said test but he/she shallnot be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of allotment by personal appearance.

Provided that to be eligible for competitive entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above. Provided also that to be eligible for competitive entrance examination the candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination be 40% marks instead of 50% for General Candidates. Further, for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

Provided further that the students of Indian Nationality educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English upto the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University. If a candidate does not fall within the qualifications prescribed as per Code number 01-06 he/she should furnish complete details to determine eligibility.

The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

NOTE: where the course content is not as prescribed for 10 +2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo as a period of one year pre - professional traninging before admission to the Medical Colleges.

The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and English.
OR
CODE : 03
The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects.
OR
CODE : 04
The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognised University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
OR

CODE : 05
B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
OR
CODE : 06
Any other examination which in scope and standard (Last 02 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology; Which shall include practical test in these subjects.) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.

RESERVATION
Reservation will be made as per following details in 15% All India quota:

(i) 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates,
(ii) 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates,
(iii) 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Educational Institutions only as per Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 10.04.2008,
(iv) 3% seats are reserved on horizantal basis for PH candidates. The reservation will be made as per 2200 point reservation roster.The mode of implementation of reservation will be available on DGHS website-www.mohfw.nic.in.

NOTE:

(a) The Pre-medical course may be conducted either at a Medical College or at a Science College.
(b) After the 10+2 course is introduced the integrated courses be abolished.
(c) Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission to M.B.B.S. Course.
(d) No State eligibility criteria will be applicable to the students who take admission under 15% All India Quota Scheme.

Instructions for sending online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout are available on the Board’s website.

Fee of Rs.800/- for General/OBC Category Candidates and Rs.450/- for SC/ST Category

Candidates may be remitted in the following ways:
1. By Credit card, or
2. Through Demand Draft in favour of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education,
Delhi drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi.

Last date of submission of Application Form: Both offline and online(Computer generated printout) Application should be sent through registered post/speed post only so as to reach to the Board on or before 04-12-2009. Offline
Offline submission of Application may be made on the prescribed Application Form. The Information Bulletin and Application Form costing Rs.800/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.450/- for SC/ST category can be obtained against Cash Payment from the designated branches of Canara Bank/Regional Offices of the CBSE between 20-10-2009 to 27-11-2009. Information Bulletin and AIPMT 2010 Application Form can also be obtained by Post from the Board by sending a written request with a Demand Draft for Rs.850/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category payable to the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi along with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12” x 10”. The request must reach to the Board on or before 18-11-2009. The request should be superscribed as “Request for Information Bulletin and Application Form for AIPMT-2010”.

About the MHT CET Exam:
If you are interested to be a part of this Maharastra Technological Studies scenario, then it becomes mandatory on your part to appear for the MHT CET examination. One of the distinguishing features of the MHT CET exam is that, it does not carry any strict domicile requirement. Candidates from Maharastra and other states of India are welcome to appear for this examination. On this context one aspect needs special mention that the non Maharashtra candidates can apply for the admissions against the Institute level seats and the vacant seats after completion of Centralized Admission Process. But this condition is completely applicable in case of the Unaided Private Engineering Colleges/Institutes.
The autonomous Colleges of Maharashtra take a bit different approach for selection of the candidates. The selection is held through a separate Admission Process, followed by Counseling.

Maharastra Technological Studies Overview:
One of the main reasons for advancement in Maharastra Technological studies is that this state houses two economic power houses of India, Mumbai and Pune. Maharastra is the third largest state in terms of area and population, and one of the favorite destinations for aspiring technocrats. The State of Maharastra is home to 155 engineering colleges with an annual intake of 48250 students (according to 2004 Statistics). Among all the engineering colleges VJTI, D J Sanghvi College of Engineering, Government Engineering College Pune are some of those institutions, which have established themselves as instances of perfect quality for studies and research among students, academicians, educationists and scientists.

Criteria for Maharastra State Candidates at MHT CET:
In order to appear for the MHT CET you should be an Indian National and should have passed the H. Sc (10+2 Std.) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. He should secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks (minimum 45% marks i.e. 135 marks out of 300 marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra state only) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together. AND for your selection you have to obtain non zero score in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the MHT-CET examination.

To resolve a tie i.e. more than one candidate securing equal marks in MHT-CET, the Procedure, which is laid down in the "MHT-CET Application Form & Information Brochure"shall be followed.

Criteria for Maharastra State Candidates at (10+2) Standard:
If you are an Indian National and have passed the H. Sc (10+2 Std.) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks (minimum 45% marks i.e. 135 marks out of 300 marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra state only) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together, you are eligible to appear for the MHT CET examination.

Maharashtra State Candidates passing Diploma in Engineering/Technology course:

If you are a Diploma holder and have passed the diploma course in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 50% marks, you are eligible to sit for this examination. Another factor also has to be kept in mind that the medium of instruction should be English from the Polytechnics affiliated to MSBTE or its equivalent /AICTE approved autonomous Polytechnics, located in or outside the Maharashtra State.

To resolve a tie i.e. more than one candidate securing equal aggregate marks in Final year of the Diploma exam, following order of preference shall be adopted: Marks obtained in Mathematics at SSC, Grand total of Marks obtained at SSC.

Criteria for Outside Maharastra State candidates at MHT CET:

The appearing candidate has to be an Indian National and should have passed the H. Sc (10+2 Std.) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.
AND
It is also essential on your part to secure non zero score in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for selection in MHT-CET.

To resolve a tie i.e. more than one candidate securing equal aggregate marks in H. Sc (10+2 Std.) examination, following order of preference shall be adopted: Marks obtained in Mathematics at H. COMEDK Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka". (COMEDK).

COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralised counselling (Single window system). The details will be publicised in due course on our website.

The list of the Member Institutions who have indicated that they are participating in the COMEDK testing program, along with the courses offered by them, is published as part of this brochure, on our website.

Applicants are advised to read the brochure thoroughly and familiarise themselves with the test procedures.

Eligibility Criteria

Degree / Diploma Programs:
Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. from an institution recognised by MCI / DCI, and must have completed or completing their internship by 30/04/2009.

MCI / DCI Norms:
* Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies; provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subjected to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which the he/she has obtained his / her basic medical / dental qualification and that his / her degree is recognised by the corresponding Council or concerned authority in India.

* As specified by the Dental Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test (COMEDK PGET-2009) for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Category candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State.

* As per the Post Graduate Regulation 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test (COMEDK PGET-2009) for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Category candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State.

* Rank list / Rank Card will be prepared only for those candidates who become eligible for admission to Post Graduate Courses as per the regulations of Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India Regulations.

* Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate medical / dental course in any of the medical / dental institutions in the country, shall possess recognised M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

Application Procedure

Applicants are requested to send the filled-in application form at the earliest to avoid any delay. Please do not wait until the last date to send in your forms.

# Multiple application form filled and received from the same candidate will result in confusion and may result in disqualification.
# Take a print of the filled in Application form and Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof. (Two copies: Candidate copy and COMEDK Copy)
# The Online application form has to be filled up properly and completely.
# The Application form is said to be complete only if it is enclosed with all the documents and posted to COMEDK office.
# If Demand Draft is not enclosed the application will be rejected.
# Multiple Demand Drafts in excess of the prescribed fee (Rs.1500/-) if sent by the candidate will not be refunded.
# Non-refundable fee for taking COMEDK PGET-2009 and attending centralized counseling, if eligible, is Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only).
# Ensure that the Demand Draft for Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only), along with all the prescribed documents are kept ready before filling up the Online Application form.

Note:
The recent passport size photographs to be provided have to be identical. It should not be more than 6 months old. Application with smudged/tampered or hazy photograph will not be accepted. Any application received not adhering to these specifications will be rejected without any clarifications and no refund will be made. The decision of the COMEDK Committee on this would be final and binding.

Note: Candidates are advised to visit COMEDK website regularly to watch for “Red Alert”. The “Red Alert” consist the list of incomplete applications. COMEDK is not responsible for rejection if clarifications listed in the red alert are not provided on time.

Test Scheme
There will be one test for PG Medical and one test for PG Dental Courses. Each test will have 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQ).

* The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 10:00AM and end at 1:00PM
* Candidates are required to mark their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reader) Answer Sheet.
* Each correct answer is awarded one mark.
* There will be no negative marking.
* However, in the event of a tie in score the principle of least negative responses will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adapted to break ties vide 5.4.2.
* No mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) of any question

Test Admission Tickets and Related Information

Candidates appearing for COMEDK PGET-2009 will be issued a Test Admission Ticket (TAT) for identification. Candidates are required to bring the TAT and the original (Candidate Copy) Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof duly attested by the Head of the Institution where he/she has studied last or Gazetted officer not below the rank of Tahasildar of the area in which he/she is a resident, which is similar to the copy submitted (COMEDK Copy) along with the application form. This is mandatory.

The Test Admission Ticket gives the details of test centre assigned to the candidate. The candidates are assigned a test centre decided by the COMEDK authority during the application processing, itself and no requests for change in test centre would be considered.

The Test Admission Tickets would be dispatched to the candidates by speed post at the address mentioned in their application form after the applications are processed. However all Test Admission Ticket will be dispatched by 13/01/2009. Candidates who do not receive the Test Admission Ticket must check the COMEDK web site in their Applicant Login on or before 19/01/2009, and then contact COMEDK helpdesk or send email to have the details of the Test Admission Ticket.

COMEDK is not responsible for any loss in transit or for incorrect address given by the candidate in the Application Form. Effort to collect Duplicate Test Admission Ticket (TAT) from the Test Centre is the sole responsibility of the candidate.

Please re check the website for any changes / updates before leaving your hometown for the test.

Change of address, if any, during the process of COMEDK PGET-2009 must be intimated through post / courier / Email / Fax to COMEDK office so as to reach not later than 26/02/2009; the responsibility for the same rests solely with the applicants.

Instructions For Test Takes

* Report 60 minutes before the commencement of the test (9:00AM)
* Test commences at 10:00AM
* Arriving later than 10:15AM is not permissible and you will not be allowed to take the test.

Candidates must not carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers except the Admit Card (without the envelope) inside the hall.
Answer sheet: All answers need to be registered on an Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet, which is machine read and evaluated. Candidates must use only black/blue ballpoint pen for marking their answers on the OMR sheet. Use of erasers or whiteners is not permitted. (Ref: Appendix-VI for format)

* OMR answer sheets will be supplied only at the examination hall. After the test is over, the answer sheet should be given back, before leaving the room. Candidates are allowed to take the candidate’s copy of the answer sheet only on completion of the test.
* Kindly note that the candidates must sign on their TAT and OMR answer sheets in the presence of the invigilator, after the invigilator has verified their TAT. Invigilators will also sign on the column indicating Invigilators Signature on the OMR Sheet, if not; the answer sheet will be invalid and not be considered for processing.
* Candidates are also required to write their name, question booklet number, Version Code, TAT number ONLY in the space provided in their OMR answer sheet.
* The OMR answer sheet is machine assessed and therefore it should be handled with care. If there is any doubt, please contact the test invigilator immediately
* The COMEDK PGET-2009 test administration is timed. The test session is designed to be completed within 180 minutes as indicated in this brochure and no compromise will be made on the set time limits. The Chief Superintendent of the test centre is the official timekeeper. Candidates (Test takers) will not be permitted to continue the test beyond the established time limit.
* It is planned to use biometrics (fingerprinting) during the test session.
* Candidates are not allowed to go out of the room temporarily for any reason during the test duration.

About the Exam

Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET), Andhra Pradesh is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, and Andhra Pradesh every year in May on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

Merit list is prepared by JNTU on the basis of which admissions are given to the candidates in the respective courses of their choice. EAMCET admissions are done into all the prestigious government colleges/institutions of Andhra Pradesh including the private and minority institutions affiliated to the

Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted every year by the Karnataka Government for the admission in Engineering and Medical colleges. The first exam was held in 1984.

Introduction for CET Entrance Exam
The Common Entrance Test is being conducted for the purpose of admission of students to the I year or I semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses in professional colleges within the State of Karnataka in respect of the seats falling to the share of the State Government.

The seats available in various professional colleges in the State of Karnataka have been in the first place, divided into free and payment seats and then shared between the managements and State Government. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota.Admissions to these seats will be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Engineering, Medical and Dental Courses Rules, 1997, as amended from time to time, which has been framed under the Karnataka Educational Institution ( Prohibition of Capitation Fee ) Act, 1984 and therefore all the details and instructions contained in this Brochure are subject to the said Rules and in case of any discrepancy the Rules prevail.

Who Can Apply for CET Entrance Exam?
A person who has passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in respect of Engineering courses and Physics, Chemistry and Biology in respect of Medical and Dental courses as optional subjects and English as one of the languages and has obtained not less than fifty (50) percent, of the aggregate marks or equivalent grade in the optional subjects is eligible for admission.Further, the person seeking admission to Medical and Dental courses should have completed the age of seventeen years as on 31st December of 2000.

So, not only a person who has passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks but also a person who has appeared for the qualifying examination and who is expecting the results is also eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Test, subject to the condition that the Karnataka quota candidates shall submit the qualifying examination marks card atleast within one week from the day of the CET, failing which no rank will be assigned to the candidate and Non-Karnataka candidates shall submit the marks card on the day of seat selection.

Mode Of Admission for CET Entrance Exam
In order to qualify for admission to any of the courses and colleges a student will have to face a Common Entrance Test which will be conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell, Bangalore in 40 places, spread over Karnataka.

Outside Karnataka Students for CET Entrance Exam
Candidates who have studied or studying XII std. or intermediate or pre-degree or equivalent examinations out side Karnataka in any state within India or in a foreign country can get the brochure cum application only through post, directly from the CET Cell, by sending a cloth lined self-addressed envelope of 25 cms x 30 cms size and a demand draft for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of the Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore on any Bank in Bangalore.

Eligibility For Admission To Non-Karnataka Quota Seats for CET Entrance Exam
A candidate who does not satisfy any of the conditions laid down for Karnataka quota seats will have the opportunity of availing a seat under Non-Karnataka quota.
In the result sheets , Non-Karnataka candidates will be assigned ranks without ascertaining their academic eligibility. Mere assigning of rank does not confer a right to select a seat.
Candidates who have secured 50% or more in aggregate in PCM or PCB as the case may be in the Qualifying Examination, are only eligible to participate in the seat selection process. Candidates without academic.

Eligibility for Medical PG Entrance Exam CMC Vellore
MD / MS / Diplomas
Candidates who have qualified for the M.B.B.S Degree of the Madras University or any other University recognised as equivalent by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and the Indian Medical Council and have completed their compulsory rotating residential internship and obtained full registration before 15/05/2010 are eligible to apply for the postgraduate diploma and degree courses.

Candidates who have qualified for a postgraduate diploma may also apply for the postgraduate degree (MS/MD) course in the same subject. Post Diploma candidates with a diploma in the same subject need to undergo 2 years of training for the degree. Note: Those who complete a DCP will not have this benefit for MD Pathology.

Candidates currently pursuing a postgraduate training programme and who complete the same by the 15th of May 2010 will be eligible to apply.

Residency in Medical Physics
MSc degree in Medical Physics or a Post-graduate diploma in Hospital Physics (Dip R.P) from BARC, Mumbai.

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for Postgraduate courses will be according to the directives of the CMC Vellore Council. Fifty percent of seats in each course are reserved for sponsored candidates, provided they fulfill other criteria for eligibility for admission. However, more than 50% of the available seats may be allotted to sponsored candidate based on their ranking in the selection test. The wait list is based on ranking in the selection tests. The first sponsored candidate on the waiting list will ordinarily fill vacancies arising by sponsored candidates not accepting a seat to make up 50% reservation for sponsored candidates. In the event that more than 50% of the seats in any course are filled by sponsored candidates and one of the sponsored candidates does not accept the seat, it will be offered to the next candidate on the wait list by rank irrespective of whether he or she is sponsored or open. No admissions will be made after 25th May 2010.
Entrance Tests For CMC Vellore Medical PG Entrance Exam

Candidates for all medical Post Graduate courses (MD /MS/ Diploma) conducted by the College are ranked on the basis of a written test, practical tests and interview.
1. The written test will be conducted at Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Puducherry, Trivandrum and Vellore.

2. The written test will be of 2 types:
a. A GENERAL paper consisting of multiple choice questions drawn from all subjects taught in the undergraduate medical course.

b. A SPECIAL paper consisting of multiple choice questions in the specialty for which the candidate has applied and subjects allied to it e.g., the paper for E.N.T. may include questions in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, etc., with respect to the ear, nose and throat.

Common Entrance Test 2009 University of Delhi South Campus

Common Entrance Test 2009 BA (Hons) Business Economics, (University of Delhi)
Admission to the BA (Honours) Business Economics course shall be based on a merit list prepared through weightage given equally to the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination and performance in the Combined Entrance Test conducted by the University of Delhi.

Eligibility:

The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi with pass in 4 subjects (English, Mathematics and two Elective Subjects) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with 55% or more marks in the aggregate of these four subjects. Rounding of fraction of a mark to determine eligibility is not permissible. The four subjects considered are all from the academic stream. They are:



* English
* Mathematics or Business Mathematics
* Any two from among the following: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Commerce, Accountancy, Computer Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy and Biotechnology. No subjects from the vocational stream, or subjects from the academic stream not listed above, would be considered for calculating the aggregate of Class XII marks.


Candidates who do not fulfil the above eligibility conditions will neither be admitted to the course nor permitted to appear in the Combined Entrance Test.
b) Reserved Categories
The eligibility conditions are the same as in (a) above except in the following :

* Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories shall be allowed 5% relaxation of the marks in the minimum eligibility requirements. A separate merit list will be drawn for these students for the purpose of 15% and 7.5% reservation respectively.
* Candidates belonging to OBC category shall be provided at least 18% of the total seats as per norms set by the University of Delhi and a separate merit list will be drawn for the purpose.
* 5% of the total seats will be offered to CW category i.e. Children/widows/wives of armed forces personnel killed / disabled / died in action or on duty. They shall be permitted 5% relaxation in the minimum eligibility condition.
* Candidates belonging to the physically challenged (PC) category shall be allowed 5% concession in the minimum eligibility condition for the test and separate merit list will be drawn for such students for the purpose of 3% reservation.
* 5% of the seats are offered to foreign students. They shall apply to the Foreign Students Advisior, FMS, University of Delhi, Delhi - 110007 and are exempted from written examination. Other eligibility conditions remain unaltered.
* The numbers admitted under (3), (4), (5) are supernumerary.
* Candidates must produce certificate from the competent authority to claim benefits under the reserved categories.



NOTE :
1) Candidates who have appeared in the annual examination of the qualifying examination and placed in the compartment will not be eligible for admission for the current year.
2) Candidates who have appeared at the annual examination of the qualifying examination and subsequently reappear for improvement to acquire eligibility will not be considered for admission for the current year.
